SHEILA HOLTHAM MURRAY SCHOLARSHIP
1. The Sheila Holtham Murray Scholarship- named in honor of our founder and first president – awarded to a Grade 11 student intending to matriculate to Grades 12 and 13 at ICHS. It covers all her expenses, including but not limited to, books, exam and lab fees, and tuition.
2. The Sister Angella Harris, OSF Scholarship- in honor of our late principal – awarded to a student(s) who embodies the ideals of Sr. Angella Harris.
3.The 35th Anniversary Scholarship – in honor of our 35th Anniversary in 2020 - awarded to an incoming Grade 7 student in 2020. It covers all expenses through graduation from ICHS.
4. General - awarded on a needs basis to students referred to the association.
SHEILA HOLTHAM MURRAY SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY CRITERIA
Essay Topic:
“Forging a connection with the alumnae association – the benefits and role of participating in the life of the school.”
Describe your thoughts on the benefits of alumnae participation; discuss how you would build awareness of the alumnae association among your classmates and the students in the lower grades, how you would encourage them to participate, and identify your visions for the alumnae association having strong connections with the school.
Requirements:
• One entry per student.
• Essay must be typed, double spaced and not exceed 4 pages; 500 - - 1000 words.
• Each page must be numbered.
• Include cover page with title, student's name, and teacher authorization confirming originality.
• Where applicable, footnotes and bibliography must be included in an appendix to the essay. The cover page and the appendix should not be included in the word count.
• Finalists must be prepared to be interviewed by the judges.
• Essay entry must be received no later than 1st June 2023.
